Old Business

Affirmative Action Diversity Resources (AADR) No report.

The Campus Climate and Quality of Life subcommittee had no report at this time. The revision of the draft letter to President Peters will be available at the May meeting.

The Personal and Professional Development subcommittee chair Jie Song should be congratulated on the commendable job she has done on the Networking Luncheons this year. Many thanks. There were approximately 90 individuals in attendance at today’s luncheon "Dressed for Success Throughout the 20th Century". There were several items collected for the suit drive. Jen Conley stated that donations will be accepted at anytime by the Career Closet. Karen Baker reported that the subcommittee will meet to summarize the suit drive results and report back to the commission.

Bill Minor reported that the salary equity committee has divided into two working groups: one quantitative (which he is working on) that will work with quantitative methods of analyzing salary equity, and one qualitative group that will examine perceptual concerns and climate issues. (Deborah Haliczer and Pat Vary are on this working group). Deborah reports that the qualitative group will be recommending conducting focus groups next academic year. Both groups are moving at a pace that emphasizes quality rather than speed. The research committee is also dealing with developing a "Stop-the clock" policy for tenure issues. Bill and Deborah have drafted a policy which has been revised and will be presented to the whole committee in May. They believe that this process will move more quickly than the salary equity groups.

For the Awards subcommittee: Sue Ouellette encouraged members to attend the Outstanding Women Students Award Ceremony April 13th. The Wilma D. Stricklin Award will also be presented at this ceremony. This year’s Martha Cooper Journalism Award recipient will be Jessica King. Her award will be presented at the Journalism banquet April 25th.

New Business

Nominating Committee for next year's PCSW officers (Deborah Haliczer, Virginia Cassidy, and Kathy Lockard) will have names for the members to vote on at the May meeting.

Bill Minor moved that the meeting be adjourned, and Deborah Haliczer seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned by Sue Ouellette at 1:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
