If you are visiting on a day when the University is open, then you will need to purchase a visitor parking permit at Campus Parking Services or use pay parking (the visitor parking lot on Carroll Avenue, parking meters, or a parking pay station). Visitor parking permits may be purchased in advance of your visit to campus.
Pay parking is available for visitors in the visitor pay lot on Carroll Avenue and at parking meters and parking pay stations located throughout campus. Pay parking is enforced from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday when the University is open, unless otherwise posted.
Summer Hours: May 12 through August 15, 2014 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Pay Station at the Student Recreation Center and at the intramural fields by Lot C3 both accept Visa, MasterCard, U.S. currency and coins. The pay station outside Anderson Hall accepts Visa, MasterCard and U.S. currency. None of these machines give change.
Please view our parking map to see the location of our visitor pay lot, parking meters, and pay stations.
Residence Hall Visitors
We are pleased to announce that you no longer need to purchase a resident visitor permit if you arrive at 4:00 p.m. or after on a Friday and you park in orange lots P, O, or W. Please note that NIU permits are still required in those lots in reserved spaces and handicapped spaces. We hope this change proves to be positive and helpful for our student residents and their guests. Please note that valid NIU parking permits will be required in those lots again every Weekday morning by 7:00 am. If you have any questions, please contact us at 815-753-1045 or email@example.com.
