MAP-Works is a student success and retention tool that can have a positive impact on how faculty and staff connect with students who are in need of additional assistance in their transition to Northern Illinois University. Whether you are a new or returning user, it is our goal to assist you in using this successful program.
If you are interested in joining the MAP-Works program, but have some questions on implementation, or are not sure if the program would benefit you in your current position at NIU, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
We have many different training options to make sure that training is efficient and effective for our campus partners. We have training sessions for:
All faculty and staff who wish to participate in the MAP-Works program will need to be trained. Training will be ninety minutes and will give you an overview of MAP-Works at NIU, results from the previous years, helpful tips on how to use MAP-Works to assist you in your role at NIU, as well as hands on training within the system.
This year, all returning users in the MAP-Works program will not need to be trained. A breif summary report of MAP-Works results from the previous year as well as improvements that have been made to the system will be sent out to users to review on their own. Returning users are more than welcome to attend the training session for new users. We would also strongly encourage returning users to attend the ongoing training sessions throughout the year and refer to the online resource manual.
If you have any concerns, questions, or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact OSAS at firstname.lastname@example.org
The OSAS is proud to offer Food for Thought. We will provide the food and MAP-Works users can partake in continued training and professional development on the program. Below are the Food for Thought lunch dates and topics for the 2013-2014 academic school year.
