So what is an Orientation Leader ?

Northern Illinois University Orientation Leaders welcome new students, their families, and guests to campus and help them become familiar with Northern’s resources. Orientation Leaders are an integral part of an effective college transition process. Interested candidates must complete the following steps:

1. Attend one informational meeting (required for applying) 

  • Thursday, October 17, 11:00 a.m., Holmes Student Center, Regency Room
  • Wednesday, October 23, 6:00 p.m., Stevenson Towers, Multi-purpose Classroom
  • Tuesday, October 29, 8:00 p.m., Douglas Hall, Smart Classroom
  • Monday, November 11, 7:00 p.m., Holmes Student Center, Heritage Room
  • Tuesday, November 19, 8:00 p.m., Holmes Student Center, Heritage Room

2. Fill out an application.

3. Create a resume.

4. Answer 5 questions found in the application packet.

5. Application, resume, and questions must be submitted to the Orientation Office by November 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.! Applications can be submitted via e-mail to orientationleaders@niu.edu or dropped off at the Orientation Office in the basement of the Holmes Student Center.
