Class Lists
Faculty may utilize R&R’s Job Training Aids for information on obtaining their course lists and class rosters.
Student Deadlines
If students wish to drop a course, they must follow the procedures on the Off-Campus Academics webpage at: http://www.niu.edu/offcampusacademics/index.shtml. Students may not drop a class by simply telling the instructor.
After the drop deadline, all course load reductions become withdrawals. Students-at-large and graduate students must contact the Graduate School to withdraw from a course. Undergraduate students should contact the appropriate college office of their individual majors to withdraw from a course.
Student E-mail
Students may access their NIU e-mail at webmail.students.niu.edu. They will be prompted to enter their “User Name” (their Z-ID) and their Novell password. If they do not know their Z-ID, they should go to accountid.niu.edu. If they do not know their password, they should go to password.niu.edu. Encourage your students to use their NIU e-mail accounts for notifications of off-campus weather-related closures.
Students may forward their mail to a different account by logging into their NIU e-mail account and selecting the “Forward To” option.
Final Exam Schedule
For off-campus courses, the final class meeting is to be used for giving final exams.
Textbooks
Faculty mjembers who wish to have books available for students in the Holmes Student Center University Bookstore should place their orders as soon as they know their class assignment. Please contact the department you are teaching in directly for further details.
Students may purchase books in three ways. These services eliminate the need for faculty to bring textbooks to the first class meeting:
