Vending machine snacks and beverages are available at all three Outreach Centers.
NIU Naperville also hosts an on-site deli where sandwiches, snacks and beverages can be purchased. Only vending machine snacks and beverages may be taken into the classrooms.
Reserve Books and Library Service
Students and faculty may use services and resources as public university libraries in Illinois and at many private colleges and universities. Please encourage your students to contact university and pubic libraries directly to determine borrowing policies. Many area libraries, including NIU, are members of the Library Computer System (LCS), which enables patrons to search holding so member libraries and provides full library services on a reciprocal basis.
Students will need to have a NIU OneCard in order to check out library resources whether from NIU or one of the consortium libraries. An online request for a OneCard can be found on the NIU Library website at: http://www.ulib.niu.edu/faqs/onecardrequest.cfm. Students can request the cards be delivered to one of the Outreach Centers (NIU Hoffman Estates, NIU Naperville, or NIU Rockford). In addition, those students who are part of a cohort group may select NIU Outreach as a delivery option.
If a student only needs access to online library resources to conduct research they can do this without filling out a OneCard request. For information regarding EZproxy they should go to the FAQ at:

Faculty members may place books and other materials on reserve at the College of DuPage, and the NIU Outreach Centers. Requests to place materials on reserve should be submitted to:

Learning Resource Center (LRC)
Library resources are available online at the NIU Library website. Computers are available in the LRC to access these resources. A student needing online library resources may research without filling out a OneCard request.If a student wishes to check out library materials from the NIU main campus library, or through interlibrary loan (via I-Share catalog or OCLC WorldCat) they need to have a NIU OneCard.
Open study areas are available in the LRC, along with a copy machine.
Library One Cards (OneCard)
All NIU students, faculty and staff must use the OneCard to borrow or request library materials. Off Campus database authentication is established through EZproxy and will require the student to enter their Novell ID and password.

The LRC library staff offers student support, such as help with computers and navigation through web resources.If you require in-depth assistance from a library subject specialist, use our Ask-A-Liberian service. From this page, students can open a chat session with a librarian, send an e-mail question, or look up the subject specialist librarian in many different areas of expertise. E-mail questions are routed to a subject specialist librarian who will respond within 48 hours, Monday-Friday.
Resources and Collections
For services available online, go to the librarys website and click on Students near the top banner. Some of the services and collections will be based on campus and in Founders Memorial Library, but many others are available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
