Open forums scheduled for trio of hopefulsThree finalists for the vice presidency for research and graduate studies will visit campus in the next two weeks for interviews and open forums.
As the senior academic officer for graduate programming, academic research and artistry, the vice president for research and graduate studies oversees the operation of the Graduate School, the Office of Sponsored Projects, the Technology Commercialization Office, the Office of Research Compliance, the Center for Burma Studies and the NIU Press.
The successful candidate understands NIU’s research capabilities and opportunities and will use that understanding to strategically advance the university’s research mission. Total external awards to NIU faculty for research, training, public service and artistic endeavors exceeded $34 million in the most recent fiscal year.
