Suburban health care executive and NIU alumna Cherilyn G. Murer has been elected chair of the NIU Board of Trustees. Murer is a resident of Homer Glen and president and CEO of The Murer Group

Professor Byron Anderson has been named interim dean of NIU Libraries, effective Aug. 1. He replaces Mary Munroe, who is retiring.

Anderson is a veteran of NIU, having spent his entire 22-year career with University Libraries.

to lead Leadership, Ed Psych, Foundations

The new chair of NIU’s Department of Leadership, Educational Psychology and Foundations brings a unique perspective to the efforts of the faculty.

Charles Howell is the father of two home-schooled children: 16-year-old daughter Elizabeth, who is transferring to NIU, and 18-year-old son Nick, a math and physics major at the University of Minnesota.
