 Carol Scheidenhelm
| Carol Scheidenhelm
Carol Scheidenhelm is an NIU doctoral graduate whom the university had the good sense not to let get away. As a graduate student in English, she helped faculty learn to use the then-newest computer technologies to teach writing. When the Faculty Development and Instructional Design Center was created, she was immediately recruited for a position there, and she has continued her great success at helping faculty learn how to use technology in their teaching. Carol's combination of technical expertise, patience and tact has helped the university develop a cadre of faculty who are using technology with confidence. She is a regular presenter at national meetings; she has been recognized at the state level for her work with users of the Blackboard platform; she serves the NIU community through work on the SPS Council; and she still always seems, her nominators say, to have time to listen to the needs or problems of a colleague.
