Debra R. Hopkins

Debra R. Hopkins is the woman behind one of NIU's “bragging points:” She is the director of the nationally recognized NIU CPA Review, which she has administered since 1991. She is a primary instructor in the review program and the author of textbooks and other learning materials. The pass rates for NIU CPA students are historically higher than those of any other university in the nation. Debra is active in state accounting organizations and offers her expertise in other ways, serving on the Accounting Advisory Board of the College of DuPage, on the audit committee of a local bank, and holding offices in her church. In 2005, Debra received a “Women to Watch” award from the state CPA organization for her contributions to accounting education and to the development of women leaders.
