Deborah Haliczer

Can anyone imagine the campus without the Employee Wellness and Assistance Program? Deborah Haliczer, as the first and only director of that program, has made it an integral part of the university. By all accounts, no one at NIU has been more dedicated to improving the working environment for all employees. Debbie has served on every committee and council with an employment-related mission. She has been involved in policy development, training, procedures clarification, programs and presentations designed to make life in the workplace more productive, more collegial and more fun for everyone at NIU. Debbie also has provided counseling to numerous employees facing personal or professional difficulties. Her understanding of the complexities of interpersonal relations, her careful neutrality and her exceptional communication skills have made her an effective mediator in employee disputes.
