Tamara Farley

Tamara Farley, the director of treasury operations, has worked at NIU for 26 years, beginning in Internal Audit and moving to work with cash management in 1993. She has earned above-average rates of return on university investments, streamlined the reporting process, revolutionized the ID card system by launching OneCard and Huskie Bucks and instituted an internship program for a finance student each semester. She has served on the SPS Council and numerous committees charged with vendor selection. Her job requires her to monitor cash balances and fund transfers during holidays and while she is on vacation, which she has done without complaint. Her nominators, both on campus and from the banking community, praise her dedication, her creativity in finding new solutions and her unassuming way of carrying out her work with the highest level of professionalism.
