Kathleen D. Brunson

As director of the Financial Aid Office, Kathleen D. Brunson's goal is to make financial options available to students and help them understand how to use those resources effectively. She has imbued her staff with the same service-oriented mentality, and has developed relationships across the campus and in the community to improve processes and make financial aid possibilities more visible. Kathleen's counseling skills and experience in Career Planning and Placement make her an ideal mentor, capable of dealing with students at moments of considerable stress. She has served for many years as adviser to the undergraduate chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, a sorority known for its community service projects, and she models that service in her own work in the DeKalb community and in her work with female students from underrepresented groups.
