NIU’s Counseling and Student Development Center has received the Outstanding Training Site of the Year award for 2003 from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University/Chicago Northwest.

The award recognizes NIU for providing Argosy students with outstanding training in the field of clinical psychology.

“The need for sophisticated university counseling centers has never been greater,” according to a letter written by Tracy P. Robinson, director of clinical training at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. “We are fortunate to have Northern Illinois University as one of our training sites. Our students have raved about NIU’s leadership and the training received. Students have credited their experience at NIU as giving them the edge to acquire American Psychological Association-accredited internships at major university counseling centers across the country.”
