Don Larson, executive director of enrollment services and registrar, is the topic of a full-page article on leaders and innovators in "The Successful Registrar."

The article focuses on the improved effectiveness and efficiency gained through greater collaboration of the offices of Admissions, Student Financial Aid, Registration and Records, Retention Services, Community College Relations and Advisory Information Referral Services.

Larson's expanded role as coordinator of the work of these offices is a key part of NIU's pursuit of enrollment management, one of the initial strategies laid out by President John Peters.

Also mentioned in "The Successful Registrar" article is Larson's integration of computers and other technology into the Office of Registration and Records.

"My job is not to do registrar things," the article quotes Larson. "I have people who do that. My job is to create an environment in which that work occurs."
