Jane ANderson

Jane Anderson, Immunization Coordinator
University Health Service

Jane Anderson, immunization coordinator for University Health Services, is a former emergency medical technician, medical assistant and phlebotomist. She joined NIU about two years ago.

What are the responsibilities of your position?
My responsibilities include making sure every student meets the Illinois State Immunization Requirements upon entrance to NIU.

How did you choose your profession?
I've worked in health care for about 18 years. I enjoy helping people and always wanted to work at NIU.

What's the best part about your job?
I enjoy helping our students and working with an exceptional group of people, especially my right-hand woman, Angie.

What's something unique about your position?
I get to meet so many of our students.

If you weren't in your current job field, what would you be doing?
I'd probably be a family practitioner or a counselor.

What are you reading?
"QBQ! The Question Behind the Question" by John G. Miller.

What music are you listening to lately?
Prince, Journey and REO Speedwagon, but I appreciate all types of music.

What good movies have you seen lately?
Old releases that I enjoy include "Purple Rain," "Sister Act," "The Color Purple" and "Dirty Dancing."

Do you have a favorite TV show?
"ER"—I like to critique it!

Any words to live by?
Always be happy, live life to the fullest and everyone should have a Mr. Microphone! Seriously, humor, health, love and song should be in everyone's life. Never grow up.
