SEVERAL SPOTS STILL OPEN IN ARTS JAM Arts Jam is a multi-arts day camp scheduled for July 8-12. Children ages 6-12 will enjoy classes in art, music and theatre based on this year's theme, folk arts. Classes are held in the NIU Music and Art Buildings from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Art projects include puppet- and mask-making and the visual representation of folk art. In music classes, children will learn about a variety of folk music. Theatre classes will consist of warm-up games each day, along with storytelling, puppet work, and the use of movement and sound games. In addition, there will be an arts-related field trip each day. CAB SUMMER MOVIES The Campus Activities Board presents free Tuesday night movies this summer. This month's movies include "Like Water for Chocolate" on July 2, "ALI" on July 9, "In the Bedroom" on July 16, "The Others" on July 23 and "Bridget Jones's Diary" on July 30. All movies will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Carl Sandburg Auditorium of the Holmes Student Center. For more information, call 753-1580.
RESIDENTIAL ARTS CAMPS SPACE There is still space in four of the College of Visual and Performing Arts' five residential arts camps this month: Theatre Arts Junior (grades 6-8) runs July 14-19; Theatre Arts Senior (grades 9-12), Visual Arts Experience (grades 8-12), and Dance Camp (grades 7-12) run July 21-26 (note: grade levels denote grade completion). CAB SUMMER NOONER CONCERTS The Campus Activities Board presents several free outdoor summer concerts at 12 noon on Wednesdays in the MLK Commons.
