Exterior Finishes - Coming Fall 2009

Obtain Your Construction Management Certification

Exterior finishes play a critical role in completing and tying together a construction project. This course covers everything from roofing materials and exterior siding, to brickwork, painting and landscaping. It will benefit professionals working in support of construction trades or those considering building or remodeling their dream home.  Anyone with limited experience or seeking positions in the construction trades also will benefit from this course.

Course outline:

  • Roofing materials and terms
  • Exterior siding
  • Brick work and exterior flatwork, including blueprint reading and scaffolding requirements
  • Painting and staining
  • Final exterior trim and flashing, overhead doors and gutters
  • Landscaping, drainage, grading, lawn installation and retaining walls
  • Driveways

This course may be taken to obtain a certification as part of the Construction Management Certification (CMC) Program, or as an individual course for those interested in the topic.  There are 8 courses to be completed to obtain a CMC certification. Participants seeking to become certified will have 3 years to complete this series of courses and the corresponding examinations.
