Interior Finishes

Obtain Your Construction Management Certification

Interior finishes lend quality, comfort and design elements to new construction projects. This course covers everything from tiling and flooring, to cabinetry, painting and drywall. It will benefit professionals working in support of construction trades or those considering building or remodeling their dream home.  Anyone with limited experience or seeking positions in the construction trades also will benefit from this course.

Course outline:

  • Drywall—conditioning, timing, scheduling and quality control
  • Priming, painting and staining
  • Tiling and flooring, including underlayment, materials and types, quality, safety and codes
  • Carpentry, trim, millwork and cabinetry
  • Weather conditions related to work
  • Clean up and trouble-shooting
  • Scheduling, final inspection and punch out
  • Customer care and service

This course may be taken to obtain a certification as part of the Construction Management Certification (CMC) Program, or as an individual course for those interested in the topic.  There are 8 courses to be completed to obtain a CMC certification. Participants seeking to become certified will have 3 years to complete this series of courses and the corresponding examinations.
