Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED is the most distinguished and widely accepted environmental design and green building certification. Northern Illinois University Outreach partners with Everblue Training Institute to deliver LEED AP Operations and Maintenance exam prep courses in the Chicago land area. Everblue, the # 1 USGBC Education Provider, is a recognized leader in the development and delivery of educational programs related to sustainability and LEED accreditation.
LEED AP Operations and Maintenance is one of five specialty accreditations awarded by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). This course is a preparation tool for those individuals who have already earned the LEED Green Associate designation and are now seeking to become LEED AP accredited.
Learn how the LEED Operations and Maintenance Rating System is used to help building owners and operators improve and maintain existing buildings, measure operations, improvements and maintenance on a consistent scale, and maximize operational efficiency and minimize environmental impacts. The course addresses whole-building cleaning and maintenance issues (including chemical use), recycling programs, exterior maintenance programs and system upgrades.
The LEED AP Operations and Maintenance (EBOM) exam prep course is also appropriate for facility owners, contractors, construction managers, architects, lawyers, builders, engineers, product representatives and facility managers.
Admission and Eligibility of LEED Examination Candidates
The LEED Green Associate is a pre-requisite requirement for anyone seeking to become LEED AP accredited. It is the candidate's responsibility to confirm they meet the examination and eligibility requirements of the Green Building Certification Institute www.gbci.org prior to enrolling in this course. NIU Outreach and Everblue Training Institute provide courses to help candidates prepare for the examinations, but assume no responsibility or authority for the eligibility, application and admission of candidates, examination processes or award of credentials.
