  1. Send subscription commands to an address that starts with the name of one of the three discussion list computer programs: listserv, listproc or majordomo: listserv@somewhere.edu
  2. Leave the subject line blank.
  3. Substitute the name of the list for "listname" and your name for "firstname lastname."
