Coller has been the primary representative of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology in the grant team. He participated in drawing up the campus climate survey and focus group protocol; he has kept the Dean of his College informed of grant activities; and he has encouraged faculty in his college to participate in our activities. Coller has also been active in the analysis of data from the campus climate survey; he serves on the steering and advisory committees.

Although Coller’s formal training is in engineering and mathematics, much of his research over the past eight years has focused on assessing student learning and measuring student engagement as they participate in nontraditional learning environments. His education research has been recognized by the National Science Foundation, the National Academy of Engineering, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Society for Engineering Education.
