The ACUHO-I 21st Century Project
The residential experience is among a student's most enduring memories from his or her college years. What driving forces will shape the future of campus housing, meet the changing face of higher education, and preserve the collegial experience? This pre-conference workshop will feature the 21st Century Project, an ACUHO-I research initiative that included an international summit involving college and university presidents; financial, academic, and housing officers; students; various experts; and professionals in the design and construction industry.
Pre-conference attendees will be provided the model that was used at the summit and will participate in an abbreviated version of the model, focusing on characteristics and services that will be key in the residential experience of the future. Attendees will also be provided with the major findings of the summit, including future trends, technology, and design possibilities. The next steps of the project, including juried competition of the architectural design, will also be shared.
