1. What is MyNIU?

MyNIU is the Student Administration System for Northern Illinois University.

3. How do I request access to MyNIU?

A form has been created to request MyNIU access.

  1. Please go to the Computer Access Request (CAR) form located at http://www.its.niu.edu/its/apps/car/.  MyNIU is part of the Enterprise Access Service Area. 
  2. Fill out the MYNIU Request Form. Complete the request form by following the directions included.  Submit the completed form and send to the email address as stated in the directions.
  3. Go back and complete the CAR form including the Department Authorizer area.

You should use your User ID and Password to login to MyNIU.

Management
Review class schedule information, view class rosters, enter grade information, and define class assignments.

Advisement
Review advisee information, transcripts, and degree progress reports.

Course Catalog and Schedule 
View course catalog information and look for specific class sections.

9. What information can students access in MyNIU?

As a student you will be able to access the following information via the Web from MyNIU:

  • Apply for Admissions
  • View Application Status
  • Review Financial Aid status
  • Accept/Decline Financial Aid
  • Register for classes (Add, Drop, Swap)
  • View account summary
  • Monitor degree progress
  • View grades
