Alana Nelson holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL) where she graduated with honors.
Alana has successfully competed in classical piano and voice competitions in both Michigan and Illinois. She was a featured soloist in “View, O Lord, A Work of Thine”, a recording of sacred music by Wheaton College Women’s Chorale. Alana’s passion is to give the gift of music through performing and teaching.
Alana maintains a private voice and piano studio in her home, and her students can be seen performing throughout the Chicago area. At Northern Illinois University, she is the coordinator of the Western music appreciation program, supervising the graduate assistants and teaching the music appreciation honors class. Alana is also an adjunct faculty member at Kishwaukee College where she teaches multiple sections of music appreciation.
