Lynn Slater is the Coordinator of Admissions and Public Relations for the NIU School of Music. She arranges graduate and undergraduate auditions, both for audition days and by private appointment, provides tours of the NIU Music Building, and coordinates all public relations efforts and news releases.

In April, 2004, Lynn received NIU's Outstanding Service Award.
