To the Parents and Loved Ones of the Students Killed this February 2008 at Northern Illinois University, from Parents and Spouses of the Students and Faculty Killed last April 2007 at Virginia Tech:
As parents and spouses of the students and faculty killed last April 16th at Virginia Tech, we extend our deepest sympathies to you, the loved ones of the students who died this month at North Illinois University. Having suffered our own devastating losses last year, we identify all too well with the shock and pain that have so suddenly and harshly entered your lives. While all of us have walked the hard path before you in our different ways since last spring, we have frequently reached out to each other for comfort and support. We know it may be some time before you are even aware of the many messages sent your way, including ours. Nonetheless, you are close to our hearts at this difficult time, and we will keep you with us in our thoughts and prayers.
