Off Campus - Summer Resources

  • American Counseling Association
    The American Counseling Association has established a list of licensed clinicians who have agreed to offer up to 5 counseling sessions at no charge to NIU students this summer. For a list of these counselors/ counseling centers, please refer to the 
    NIU Office of Support & Advocacy Web site or the ACA Web site. NIU students may search for a provider near their home, contact the clinician directly, and bring their NIU photo ID to the counseling sessions for free services.
  • DuPage County Counseling Services
    Students who reside in DuPage County may contact the DuPage County Counseling Services at (630) 627-1700. These services are available 24 hours a day. Students may receive up to 3 individual sessions at no charge, if they identify themselves as being affected by
    February 14.
  • Illinois Department of Human Services 
    Mental Health Services
  • Student Health Insurance 
    Please keep in mind that Student Health Insurance will cover 25 outpatient visits to qualifying mental health care providers (deductible & co-pays apply). Information about participating providers. If you have questions about your student health insurance coverage, please call
