Studio Recording

Media Services Audio Recording Studio is a comprehensive facility designed to accommodate your audio needs, whether you need to document an experiment, recruit students, or record lectures.

Audio Recording Studio Services include:

  • Media format conversions (i.e. record to tape; tape to CD; .WAV to .MP3; etc)
  • Voice and instrument recording
  • Limited remote recording

Studio Equipment includes:

  • Multiple tape machines
  • Digital Audio Tape (DAT)
  • Reel-to-Reel 1/2-track and 1/4-track formats with stereo and multi-track capabilities
  • Audiocassette players/recorders
  • Stereo and mono, high-speed cassette-duplicating machine
  • CD players/recorders
  • A sound conditioned recording booth that can accommodate multi-person recordings as well as small ensemble recordings. It includes a talkback and headphone monitoring system as well as several high-quality multi-pattern microphones
  • Pro-Tools LE computer multi-track recording and editing system that can read and write in .MP3, .WAV, and several other Windows file formats. The audio studio is sound conditioned and has outboard sound processing capabilities, including equalizers, noise reduction (both Dolby and DBX) and digital effects devices.
