What are you doing now:
I now work at Sony Pictures Entertainment (Sony Studios). I'm a utility sound technician (ProTools Technician/Engineer). I'm a member of the Motion Pictures Editors Guild. I support all the technical needs of all the Sound Mixers & Sound Editors for Sony's Feature and TV Sound. I'm married and a homeowner living in Los Angeles.
Fond memory of Media Services:
I really enjoyed traveling to other cities for remote shoots at the football games. This way I was able to see Leshon Johnnson run all over our opponents. It was great to get out on the road and put my education to work and gain much needed experience.
How Media Services employment helped your career:
I feel NIU Media Services provided me with the hands on experience I needed to really grasp the industry. Being able to actually put my hands on the newer equipment and technology that Media Services had really helped out as opposed to the antiquated technology we had in my undergraduate program. I'm so happy to hear that the undergraduate students now have cutting edge technology they need to really learn our industry (e.g., DV, Avid, Final Cut Pro, ProTools, etc.).
