Physics 211S Electricity & Magnetism Lab

The P211 lab sections must be taken in conjunction with the P211 lecture course. Lab sessions occur weekly beginning the first week of the semester and require the completion of experiments that provide practical application of physics concepts the student learns in the lecture course.

Course Objectives and Prerequisite(s): See P211 course description.

Lab Schedule: Will be available on Blackboard the first week of the semester.

Lab Experiments will include:

  • Electrostatics: Coulomb’s Law, Electric Field
  • Electric Circuits: Basic electrical circuits, Ohm's Law
  • Magnetism: Faraday’s Law, Magnetic fields
  • Optics: Reflection/Refraction, Lenses and Mirrors
  • Modern Physics: Atomic spectra emission
