32nd Annual Lenny B. Mandell Moot Court Competition
The NIU College of Law Moot Court Society cordially invites you to the 32nd Annual Lenny B. Mandell Moot Court Competition. Preliminary rounds will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.; quarterfinals on Saturday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m.; and semi-finals on Saturday, February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. The final round will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by the annual Moot Court Awards banquet. All rounds of competition will take place at Swen Parson Hall in the Francis X. Riley Courtroom.
The judges for the final round of competition will be:
- Justice Thomas L. Kilbride, Supreme Court of Illinois
- U.S. District Judge James Holderman, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois
- Professor Barry Sullivan, Cooney & Conway Chair in Advocacy and Professor of Law, Loyola University School of Law
On the first day of the Spring semester, second-year students received the record on appeal and began researching and writing their appellate brief. Once the brief is completed, the students practice and polish their oral arguments. Visit this page for more information as the competition nears.
