NIU Law Welcomes Class of 2020 at New Student Orientation

Our fall 2017 New Student Orientation program begins on Thursday, August 17 and will run until Friday, August 18. We are excited to welcome about 100 students into our incoming class which is one of the most accomplished and diverse classes in recent history.

New law students from all over the country will be joining us for this two-day orientation program, which includes the Illinois Supreme Court’s Oath of Professionalism, the 1L Class Photo, Professionalism and Ethics breakout group discussions, a university and law school administrative services fair, lunch with our law school faculty and a welcome reception with our law faculty, staff, alumni and current students. Throughout the course of orientation, students will also begin classes, including learning how to brief a case, critically read for law school and put legal ethics into practice.

Our regular class schedule begins on Monday, August 21, when we expect an additional 150 returning law students to join us on campus.
