Professor Taylor Serves as Judge for NIU Nursing Program Mock Trial

Professor David Taylor served as guest judge for a mock trial in NIU's Transition to Professional Nursing course, as reported in the May 2016 edition of the NIU School of Nursing newsletter. The mock trial was held in the Riley Courtroom in Swen Parson Hall. Nursing students served as attorneys, jurors, witnesses and the defendant in the mock case, which was intended to display the heavy involvement of the legal system in healthcare. The simulated case was based on the circumstances surrounding an actual trial involving a lawsuit against a regional hospital for poor care.
