NIU Law Students Complete Great Wall Marathon

Brian Cunningham (left) and Samantha Albrecht preparing for the Great Wall Marathon.

Third-year NIU Law students Brian Cunningham and Samantha Albrecht recently traveled to China to run the Great Wall Marathon on May 21, 2016. The race is a 26.2 mile run (in temperatures near 100 degrees) on top of the Wall itself, which is an uneven, rough surface with numerous changes in elevation. It is considered one of the most difficult marathons in the world, and draws over 2,500 runners from more than 60 countries each year. Both students finished the race and will be in good condition to graduate with their class on May 28.
