Professor Stewart Nejdl Wins 2017 AALL Award

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl is the winner of the 2017 Minority Leadership Development Award from the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL). She will receive her award as part of the 110th AALL annual meeting and conference, held July 15-18 in Austin, TX. The AALL awards program was established to publicly recognize the achievements of law librarians for their service to the profession and contributions to legal literature and materials. 

Professor Stewart Nejdl Selected for AALL Leadership Academy

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl has been selected as a fellow for the 2016 American Association of Law Libraries Leadership Academy, which takes place in April 2016 in Oak Brook, IL. The Academy is a training program designed to provide librarians with key skills and techniques necessary for effective leadership. Professor Stewart Nejdl completed an arduous application process to be one of only 45 librarians nationwide selected as a fellow.

Professors Mentkowski and Stewart Nejdl Present at LWI Workshop

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl and Professor Annie Mentkowski and presented at Chicago-Kent College of Law’s “Teaching Today’s Students with Today’s Tools for Tomorrow’s Practice” on Friday, December 11, 2015. This was a one-day workshop presented by the Legal Writing Institute. The topic was “Research Instruction: Innovating Your Legal Research Classes.”

Professor Stewart Nejdl's Reviews Featured in ALL-SIS Newsletter

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl published two reviews in recent issues of the official newsletter for the Academic Law Libraries-Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries. Both reviews appeared in the Fall 2015 edition of the newsletter (on pages 9 and 25), and they reported on programs called "Designers’ Workshop: Subject Guides That Create the Effect You Want" and "Transitioning to the Revised ABA Law School Accreditation Standards."

Law Library Faculty Publish Articles in MAALL Markings

Professor Heidi Kuehl and Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl published articles in the September 2015 edition of MAALL Markings, the official newsletter of the Mid-American Association of Law Libraries. Professor Kuehl's article is entitled "Inside the Dag Hammarskjöld Library" and Professor Stewart Nejdl's article is entitled "First Year Teaching: How I Got Here from There."

Professor Stewart Nejdl Named Librarian of the Month

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl was selected as the Member of the Month for September 2015 by the Black Caucus of the American Association of Law Libraries. She is currently featured on the homepage of the Caucus' website.

Professor Stewart Nejdl Interviewed by Chicago Association of Law Libraries Bulletin

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl granted an interview to Kara Dunn of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries (CALL) Bulletin on October 8, 2014. Professor Stewart recently joined CALL herself. The interview appears in the Fall 2014 issue and covers Professor Stewart's personal and professional motivations, her expectations about her new position at the College of Law, and larger thoughts on the job of law librarian.

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl Featured in Chicago Daily Law Bulletin

Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl was featured in the August 13, 2014 edition of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Professor Stewart's arrival at NIU Law was detailed, including her previous experience before coming to the College of Law.
