Law Library News & Announcements
The Voyager system, which includes NIU's online catalog and the I-Share shared catalog, will be shut down for a software upgrade from 5 p.m. Friday June 12 until approximately 8 a.m. Monday June 15. Users will not be able to search the catalog or place new requests or make renewals during this time.
This collection digitizes ABA Law Library Collection Periodicals, along with 45 periodicals previously only available to ABA section members. It provides access to current volumes of included periodicals and covers all subject areas of American law. Access it from the library home page by clicking on the Hein Online link.
- We are excited to share a new expansion of security as a safety measure in the law library during the evenings on Sunday through Thursday. During those evenings, we will have a security guard stationed at the entrance of the law library for two hours prior to closing (9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) who will be doing constant monitoring of the law library and law school building, as well as closing the classrooms and the law library near closing time. You should report any suspicious activities or security issues to him during the evening hours.
- The law library has slightly revised hours and is now open at 7 a.m. for any early morning studying (Monday-Friday) and at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Please take advantage of these new hours and consult the schedule for the complete spring hours.
- Please enjoy the new books and periodicals display as you enter the law library. We offer comfortable seating near the books and journals, so you may peruse recent issues at your leisure.
- Finally, we have a slightly renovated arrangement of seating and public terminals at the entrance of the law library for more open space. Happy reading!
As always, let me or any law librarian know if you have any questions throughout the spring term or concerns about law library services. We look forward to assisting all of you with your research endeavors.
