“Interdisciplinarity:
How Can This Approach Help Resolve the
Most Complex Health Care Issues of Our Time?”
Monday, October 29, 2012
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
About the Program
This day-long program has been designed with the collaboration of the NIU Colleges of Business, Engineering, Health & Human Sciences, and Law. The program will focus on interdisciplinarity in the health care context, integrating theoretical perspectives and practical knowledge. Attendees will participate in role play scenarios and sessions that will apply intersectionality to a number of health care issues, such as compliance, finance, and patient safety. Attendees will benefit from discussions such as the importance of interdisciplinarity in solving complex real-world problems; successful integration of disciplines in the academy and in practice; best practices in interdisciplinarity; and the benefits of intersectionality beyond the classroom.
Who Should Attend
Health care administrators, health care providers, lawyers, academics in the Chicago land region (and beyond) would benefit from this program. Teams of professionals from organizations are encouraged to attend in order to learn and experience working among the various disciplines. The workshop will also benefit individuals who wish to advance their careers by developing management and leadership skills in business, clinical, operations, and legal aspects of healthcare.
