The Northern Illinois University Law Review will be holding its 25th annual symposium on April 15, 2016. The legal community, both nationally and in Illinois, is learning how to grapple with the challenges presented by the growing usage of social media.

Our goal for the symposium is to bring together legal academics and legal professionals to share their expertise. It is our hope that the symposium will highlight issues important to students, practicing attorneys, and all members of our community.

We are excited to host a distinguished group of speakers in discussions regarding the impact of social media on our legal system and how we interact with one another. Our featured speaker will explore authentication and usage of social media as evidence.

Featured Speaker: Marc Ginsberg
Professor-Reporter, Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Illinois Evidence
Director of the Center for Advocacy & Dispute Resolution & Associate Professor of Law,
John Marshall Law School

Speakers will include:

  • Joshua King, Avvo, Inc.
  • Heidi Frostestad Kuehl, Northern Illinois University College of Law
  • Enrique Monagas, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP
  • Jamie Mosser, Klein & Mosser, LLC
  • Melissa Smart, Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission

Sincerely,

Cora Moy
