New Clinical Law Center Office Opening in Swen Parson Hall
August 1, 2012
DeKalb, Ill. - In Fall 2012, the College of Law will open a new Clinical Law Center at the law school. A portion of Swen Parson Hall was recently renovated to create an office space exclusively reserved for students enrolled in the clinical program and the Clinical Faculty.
The Clinical Law Center has been designed to allow clinic students to work on case matters on the days when they are not at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic in Rockford or at another clinical location. The new space has three private offices which students can use to make telephone calls, access client files, to draft legal documents on behalf of their clients, and to meet with other clinic students to discuss and strategize about their cases. The new space also includes a fourth desk and work area for students’ use, as well as a large conference room where students can conduct meetings or work together on group assignments. The Clinical Law Center also has a large file room with plenty of space for storage.
The Clinical Law Center Office will provide ample space for clinic students to meet with Clinical Faculty and to work with faculty on clinic cases together at the law school. The Clinical Faculty anticipates that efficient use of the new space will allow more clinic work to be completed at the law school in DeKalb whenever possible.
We hope you will join us for an Open House later this Fall and take a tour of our new clinic offices.
