NIU College of Law Fraternity Hosts Chili Cookoff

DeKalb - NIU College of Law Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity will host a chili cookoff on Thursday, February 27, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Thurgood Marshall Gallery of Swen Parson Hall in DeKalb.  Tickets are $5.00 and available for purchase February 24 through February 27 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. outside Room 181 in Swen Parson Hall and at the event.

Attendees and judges will taste chili creations prepared by College of Law faculty, staff, and students and winners of the competition will be announced at 1:45 p.m.  Drinks and desserts will also be provided.

Phi Alpha Delta is a professional law fraternity that provides a link between practicing attorneys and law students.  This international organization is the largest legal fraternity in the world, with over 100,000 law students, legal educators, and members of the bench and bar among its members.

The local Dooley Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta offers NIU College of Law students the opportunity to associate with practicing attorneys, judges, government officials, and alumni from various legal fields.  The chapter also offers law students professional programs such as brief-writing workshops, access to student aids, and course outlining instructions.
