NIU Law Jessup Moot Court Team Wins

The NIU College of Law Jessup Moot Court team, represented by third-year students Matt De Paz, Spencer Langford, and Lindsay Vanek, second-year students Sarmistha Banerjee and Jeremy McCabe, and coached by Professor Dan Reynolds, won three awards at the Jessup International Moot Court Competition this past weekend. In addition to earning Third Best Brief honors out of 21 teams, Lindsay Vanek was ranked Fifth Best Oralist and Sarmistha Banerjee was ranked Second Best Oralist out of 90 oral competitors. The NIU Law team also had the highest number of raw points of all 21 teams, with a total of 3222 points.
Coach and Professor Dan Reynolds noted, "This was an impressive performance by some highly self-motivated, self-starting individuals who knew how to work together as a team. They represent the very best of what NIU offers." Professor Reynolds was assisted by Professors Tan, Taylor, Jones, Miller, Stange, and many others.
