  • Anthony Cuda was named a 2016 Leading Lawyer in Personal Injury Law: General and Workers’ Compensation Law. He is with Cuda Law Offices, Ltd. in Oak Park, IL. - April 2016
  • Jerry B. KurzJerry B. Kurz was named the first-ever President of the Arena Football League on September 16, 2014.  Kurz had served as Commissioner of the AFL for five years and worked as part of the league for 28 years prior to his appointment.  He is credited with bringing the AFL bank from bankruptcy and expanding it considerably.




  • Dave NealDave Neal has been appointed Special Prosecutor by the Illinois State's Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. Special Prosecutors step in, upon appointment by the county's Chief Judge, when an elected State's Attorney is in a position of potential conflict. Neal, a two-term Grundy County State's Attorney, is a Past-President of the Illinois State's Attorneys Association and former Member of the Board of Directors of the National District Attorneys Association. Neal concentrates on cases occurring in Illinois' Second and Third Appellate Court Districts. - December 2012
  • Nancy Chausow Shafer was named a 2016 Leading Lawyer in Family Law. She is with Chausow Shafter, P.C. in Highland Park, IL. - April 2016
  • Nancy Chausow Shafer was named a 2011 Leading Lawyer in Family Law. - November 2011
  • Linda Smerge received the Distinguished Alumni Award, given to an NIU alumnus or alumna who has achieved outstanding success and recognition in his or her field, from the NIU Alumni Association. - May 2011
