  •  Louis ApostolOn March 16th, 2017 Louis G. Apostol served as a juror on the “Trial of the Parthenon Marbles,” a special event presented by the National Hellenic Museum at the Rubloff Auditorium in Chicago. There were over 700 attendees. Louis has also been selected to be a judge at the 2016-2017 ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) finals at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago on April 7th.
  • Louis G. Apostol was elected to the Associated Colleges of Illinois Board of Directors on February 1, 2016.
  • Louis G. Apostol was inducted into the United Hellenic Voters of America's prestigious "Hall of Fame" for his many contributions to the practice of law and government service.  He was honored at the UHVA's 39th Annual Awards Dinner and by the City of Chicago with a resolution sponsored by Alderman Burke in November.  Louis is Executive Director and counsel for the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and a member of the NIU Law Board of Visitors. - October/November 2013
  • Donald J. DoodyDonald J. Doody, shareholder at the law firm Goren, Cherof, Doody & Ezrol, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale, FL, was named Municipal Attorney of the Year as he received the Paul S. Buchman Award at the Florida Municipal Attorneys Association's (FMAA) recent seminar. - September 2016
  • John T. Elsner was elected Chief Judge of the Court of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of Illinois. - September 2011
  • Patrick Flaherty has won a 2016 Trial Lawyer Excellence Award from the Jury Verdict Reporter. He is one of only 13 attorneys in the state of Illinois to receive this honor. Flaherty is a partner at Kinnally Flaherty Krentz Loran Hodge & Masur, P.C. in Aurora, IL. - August 2017
  • Mark D. Gilwit was named Alumnus of the Year at the NIU Law Golf Outing and Awards Dinner. - July 2011
  • James Glasgow received an award from the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network for his work to protect victims of domestic violence. - June 2013
  • Robert Handley was elected to the ISBA Assembly for the 18th Circuit. - May 2013
  • Edward J. Kus ('78)Edward J. Kus was recognized as one of the “Leaders in their Field” in the recently released 2014 edition of Chambers USA. Kus, a partner with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Chicago, was designated as a leader in Illinois in the area of Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use. Chambers ranks both lawyers and law firms based on the research of more than 150 full-time editors and researchers. - June 2014
  • Dean Maragos was elected to the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois. - June 2013
  • Cherilyn MurerCherilyn Murer has written a new book, published by CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, called “Clinical Co-Management: A Bridge to Clinical Integration and Pathway to Bundled Payments.” The book provides a comprehensive view of the Clinical Co-Management Agreement (CCMA) framework. - September 2015
  • On November 3, 2014, Cherilyn Murer J.D., C.R.A, President/CEO of Murer Consultants, Inc., was a distinguished guest speaker on the topic of Higher Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Her presentation was on "The Form and Function in the Climate of Today's Higher Education" and took place at Annenberg Hall.
  • Cherilyn Murer presented the 18th Annual Riley Lecture on Professionalism in the Francis X. Riley Courtroom of Swen Parson Hall. - March 2011
  • Cherilyn Murer was re-elected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for fiscal year 2013 and Judge Anthony Iosco was re-elected as a member of the executive board. - May 2012

  • Cherilyn Murer was appointed to the National Readmission Prevention Collaborative (NRPC).  NRPC is a volunteer organization that showcases case studies of 'Best Practice' readmission prevention programs for hospitals and provides readmission prevention tool kits. - February 2014
