Morgan Sauder

Morgan Sauder

About Morgan:  I am a first generation college graduate and the first in my family to go to law school. I am from rural southern Wisconsin but will be moving to Ohio after graduation. My sister is a veterinarian and the two of us share a love of animals that overflows from our personal lives into our professional lives. I studied abroad for a year in Guadalajara, Mexico, and for a semester in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Before coming to law school, I worked as a Spanish-language medical interpreter. I am an avid horseback rider and enjoy most outdoor activities. I am very health-conscious and am taking the time to take care of myself while in law school.

Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience:  I have worked at the same general practice law firm since my 1L year and have loved the experience. The attorney that I worked for is a 2007 alumna from NIU Law and she takes on a myriad of cases, many of which are in family law and criminal defense. I have had many opportunities to perform legal research and writing at the firm, as well as attend court, pre-trial conferences, and work directly with clients. I truly enjoy the work I do at the firm and know I have made the right decision in pursuing this career path.

What activities are you involved in? I brought back the dormant NIU Law Chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and have been the President for two years. I am also in the Latino Law Student Association, Public Interest Law Society, and the Women's Law Caucus.
