Megan Heath

Megan McGee Heath

About Megan: I am from a small town in northwestern Wisconsin. I am a first-generation college student and a first-generation law student. As part of my undergraduate studies, I studied for two weeks in various parts of China, and I also studied abroad for a semester in St. Petersburg, Russia. I love to travel. I also have a passion for animals and children and have enjoyed volunteering with children and at animal shelters.  I enjoy running with my 2 Yorkie rescues in my free time. I've done about a half a dozen races this year ranging from a 3K in August to an upcoming 10K in October! After law school I want to work in the public sector, hopefully in a public defender’s office.

Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: Currently, I am a law clerk at an immigration firm in Hoffman Estates, IL, and I am also a research assistant for Professor Anita Maddali.

What activities are you involved in? I am the president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF).
