Jesse Guth
About Jesse: I was adopted from Calcutta, India when I was two years old. I have two military parents. While I was growing up, I moved all around Europe, including Germany and London. I played soccer and ran track for Peoria Notre Dame High School. I recently graduated from Illinois State University.
What activities are you involved in? Here at the College of Law, I have joined Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, the Women’s Law Caucus, and the Student Bar Association. In college, I was president of Alpha Phi Sigma (the criminal justice honors fraternity), the law club, and the criminal justice association. We participated in fundraisers and service projects, including Toys for Tots drives, canned food drives, and Trick-or-Treat for Change. Additionally, we toured state facilities such as prisons and brought professionals from the field to networking events.
What do you like the most about being at NIU Law? I chose NIU Law for various reasons. I love the small town feel, but I am close to Chicago if I ever want to experience a faster-paced environment. DeKalb offers numerous social settings and has all the necessities for college living at a reasonable price. The law school is affordable and has a great atmosphere, the professors are friendly, and the second- and third-year students are always helpful.
