About Courtney: Having an architectural background, I am very interested and involved in the real estate industry. I do enjoy studying and admiring architecture, but I also enjoy other facets of real estate including the market. I feel the real estate industry engages my architectural background as well as my current law and business focus.
Previous Legal and/or Professional Experience: I have worked at a variety of jobs relating to architecture including working on as-built draw and assessment of the Hines-VA Hospital in Hines, IL. I also worked with a builder who designed and built high-end, custom-made homes in addition to doing some development work.
What activities are you involved in? I have become very involved at NIU Law and am a member of many organizations. I participated in the trial advocacy competition last fall. Outside of the law school, I volunteer at my church, specifically within the construction, maintenance, and development areas.
What do you like most about NIU Law? The faculty and staff. They are incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, available and helpful. Several members of the faculty and staff have made my experience at NIU Law amazing and I am very thankful for the faculty and staff as a whole. I cannot stress enough how caring and concerned for my legal education and future the people at NIU Law have been. They are always accommodating and very willing to help me by combining their knowledge with my thoughts, opinions, and plans for my future.
