899.6 Supreme Court Appellate Practice Simulation (3)

This course is a practice-based simulation for appellate advocacy. During the course of the semester, students will be expected to perform the roles of advocates, judges, and journalists in the context of eight live cases being decided by the Supreme Court during its current term. In addition to performing their various roles, students will be responsible for drafting a judicial opinion and a newspaper article. Grading will be based on how well the students perform their assigned tasks and on the quality of the written assignments (there will be no final). Much of the work will be collaborative in nature and some of the course requirements will be graded on a team basis. This course is limited to 32 students.
