This course provides a survey of health care law and regulations in the United States. The material covers a broad range of legal issues surrounding the delivery of health care: health care reform, state and federal regulation of health care providers and institutions, HIPAA and state privacy laws, patient and provider rights and obligations, as well as basic issues in bioethics and public health. Topics also include access to health care provided via public and private insurance programs, fraud and abuse, health care compliance programs, medical malpractice and physician contracting.
